Our Story
While “Carr Angus” may be a name new to the Central Montana Angus tour, its owners are 3rd and 4th generation Angus Breeders in the Judith Basin.
Valerie (Stevenson) Carr grew up in the Angus business, working alongside her parents, Wayne & Marian Stevenson as they built Basin Angus Ranch. Clint & Valerie worked at Basin Angus in the 1980’s and returned to the ranch full time in 1994 after Wayne’s passing. With the complete dispersal of Basin Angus in 2010, Clint & Valerie, along with their oldest son, Kyle, retained a small herd of registered Angus cattle. Today, the primary day to day responsibilities of the operation falls to Kyle and his wife Stephanie. In addition to Angus cattle , they produce alfalfa, hay barley and sheep.
From those foundation Basin genetics we have continued to improve selecting for moderate birth, performance, productivity and disposition. The goal is to produce functional, efficient, real world cattle that will calve without assistance and bring in exceptional calves in the fall.
Bulls are sold each Spring through the Montana Performance Bull Co-Op Sale and Private Treaty.
We are excited to showcase some of our 2016 calf crop and next Spring’s bull offering. Sons by BASIN ADVANCE, DENVER, GENERATION, EXAR POWERSOURCE, BASIN PAYWEIGHT 1682 and BASIN YUMA 4286 will be available through the Montana Performance Bull Co-Op Sale and Private Treaty.
We are proud to carry on the tradition started by Grandpa Wayne and Great Grandpa Jamie Stevenson –providing our customers with top quality, functional, reliable cattle.
Thank you for taking part in the 2016 Montana Angus Tour and letting us showcase our Angus cattle for you. Clint & Valerie Carr Kyle & Stephanie Carr
